Biblical Love

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

God’s love is truly the ultimate love that exists. I acknowledge that some people do not believe in God or a deity higher than themselves. I can’t speak from this point of view because I can’t comprehend my life without God in it. Rebuildmeloveltr.com was created one after having an encounter with God in my prayer time. I believe everyone has experienced some challenges in life left with the difficulty in trying to overcome the impact of the trauma. Life without faith would have left me in hopeless state of mind. It amazes me that some people only rely on God in the time of a crisis and in some instances, blame Him for it happening. I’ve heard, “ if God is so good, then why does He allow all of these bad things to happen in our lives”. There are times when others refer to God as the one that showers gifts on us.

In other words, He is known only as a provider that gives us what we pray for and outside of that He is useless. Don’t misconstrue what I’m saying, I whole heartedly believe everything good comes from God -James 1: 17. This verse states,

” Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

My belief extends deeper than just a supplier, but into my divine source of strength and reason for living. A relationship flows deeper than what you can give to each other. As in the natural relationships with our loved ones, there may be times when one isn’t giving anything but only taking. I happen to believe that God’s love is unconditional and complete in every facet of my life. To me, this means that regardless of my faults, flaws, accomplishments, and spiritual development, His love remains constant. Life’s journey hasn’t always yielded the greatest return on my investment. I’ve invested a lot of time learning over the years, and thankfully, I have received great dividends that saved me in tumultuous times.

But the question remains, where do I find the ability to still declare He loves me after the suffering of losing my son, financial devastation, divorce, losing my job, being betrayed, battling with sickness, being abused, losing family, friends, and nearly losing my mind in its entirety. At one point in time, it just seemed like there was no ending in sight other than taking my own life. They say the angels collect every tear you cry. My tears have produced two oceans and a bay. Somehow, beneath all this destruction, my heart and mind remain in perfect peace with joy and happiness. Why would He allow so many of these things to happen to me, if He truly loved me.

Our view of destruction is tainted. I began to change my perspective on how I saw the demolition of my life. When we change our perspective on trials, we gain insight beyond the realm of emotional pain. Our view shifts inward to discover what must I do to invoke change in my life. During my academic journey, I can recall an excessive number of days facing difficult challenges. I failed some tests, I struggled barely passing others, but I refused to GIVE UP. I feel God challenges us in many ways in life. He is pulling and tugging on us and providing means to improve us. This is a love that is long suffering. It takes time to develop into the purpose you were designed to accomplish. God is a spirit; we can’t physically see Him with our eyes. Whatever your God may be, it’s still spiritual. When I look up the definition of spiritual is means relating to or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.

God is Love. 1 John 4:16 God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

My belief in Jesus dying on the cross is the main reference point of MY personal definition of love. It is how much you ‘re willing to sacrifice of yourself for another. Jesus gave up HIS life so that we could live eternally. Take a minute and just conceptualize the depth of dying for a group of people when who you and your purpose were misunderstood. Consider extending love to people that hate you for no reason, and falsely accused you. Embrace the reality of knowing you had the “power” to just walk away, but you endured the agony, humiliation, and decided to walk your purpose all the way to the end. If we took a moment to look within our immediate circles, could we find anyone who is willing to love someone to that extent? We refer to them as heroes. There is a remnant of individuals that exist in the world called HEROES.

God’s love is referred to as Agape which is unconditional love, the highest form of love, charity and the love of God for man. Some people may say God sounds a bit selfish in that He would create man to only worship and serve Him. He knew man would betray Him, but I also believe He looked down the road and saw some that would not. He gave us free will to choose, and that IS love. Today, so many of us desire to have a love that will love us back. The harsh reality of giving a love that is not reciprocal implies love can’t be forced. Love must be given freely. No matter how hard we try, we cannot make someone love us. God loves us even when we fail to love Him. He never stops loving us or giving up on us. To further define the love of God, He really didn’t have to take the time to create man. He chose dirt from the ground to form man. He chose to breathe HIS own breath into the dirt. The dirt became a living soul. Then He took careful time to shape our minds with such precision.

My daughter studied Neuroscience and enlightened me to understand that our brain has such precision in its design. The human mind contains the highest capacity of thinking on the planet. He (God) considered the notion of classifying the human mind above every living creature. He gave man the authority and dominion to rule over all that He created. I can’t begin to fathom why would He input these levels of creativity and ability in a human. He extended His love further by giving us our own individual identity. He chose to prohibit our exact duplication even when we possess the ability to reproduce. I have birthed two children, but each one of them has their own personality, their own mindset and creativity.

I often wonder why He designed us to go through several stages beginning with the gestation of the sperm and the egg. How He designed us to be dependent on each other to produce. He created man with the necessity of instant love towards one another. He knew love would be a reproducing requirement to saturate the earth with life. I now see why it’s been such a challenge to Find the True Love of your Life.

I had a simplistic perspective regarding the purpose of marriage. It took many years of disappointment to finally position myself to humbly admit I was out of order and wrong. I’m grateful that God’s love shows us the errors of our way. He waits patiently for us to grab hold of what needs to change. Once our hearts and mind are in the proper posture and position to desire a change, He is merciful to impart the change. This is the amazing grace, divine mercy, patience, long -suffering and goodness that ushers us onto the journey of our transformation to discover “True Image”.
